Darryl Kendrick grew up in a small North Carolina mill town. His father was a school teacher and his mom typed medical records for the local hospital. Because he always asked so many questions, Darryl's nickname was "little lawyer" which turned out to be prophetic. He worked long hours in the textile mills to help pay for college.
After four years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!), Darryl received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1978.
From 1978 - 1983, Darryl worked primarily as an insurance adjuster, in Florida and Texas. He worked both in the office and "on the road" investigating accidents and claims. This work was great preparation for a career in law.
In 1985, Darryl received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida (Go Gators!), completing his studies one semester early. Darryl found law school fun and easy compared to working 65 hours a week.
After law school, Darryl worked as an associate attorney for a couple of years before establishing his first partnership. In the late 1990s, Darryl decided to work as a sole practitioner. He is now in his 32nd year as a lawyer. You could say he's had a lot of practice...
Darryl concentrates his practice in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns Counties. He has spent his entire legal career based in Jacksonville.
